Autumn sunshine with Stuart and Kim
Arriving at the Pot Belly restaurant in Harriet
There is little doubt that there is something special about an autumn wedding, particularly when the sun shines! Well no surprises- November hasn’t been a great month weather wise and the week leading up to Kim and Stuart’s wedding on Saturday 22nd was to be no exception. As we cleaned Hovis and Harriet on the days leading up to the wedding, we were pleased that we had a large garage to keep us out of the elements.
The vehicles looked good on the Friday night fitted with ribbons and rosettes, we started to wonder if we would be blessed with a good day for the wedding.
On Friday night the wind howled and the rain poured and all we could do was hope for the best. When we woke up on Saturday we couldn’t believe our luck – the sun was shining and it was a dry but crisp day! Happy days!
We headed off in convoy to collect our Bride, arriving early (of course!) to meet Kim and her Mum and Dad and the bridesmaid and flower girl. Introductions done, we headed off in convoy to the church in Magheralin. Hovis arrived first, followed by Harriet who had a quick stop to put her roof down so she could arrive in style!
The sun shone and Kim and her Dad looked cool as we drove up to the church entrance. Hovis pulled in behind Harriet and we waited till the service concluded and the newly weds Stuart and Kim came out into the sunshine.
Stuart – a keen surfer – really appreciated the vehicles and they provided a great talking point for family and guests as they left the service. On the way to the reception we played a bit of hide and seek with the photographer as we checked out some nice photo locations.
We then arrived at the Pot Belly Restaurant, Tullylish, where after a few more photos, we safely left the wedding party at their reception. A great day was had by all – Stuart, Kim and their families are just such lovely people- it was our privilege to be part of their special day.
Stuart was kind enough to send the following message the next day in an email:
‘Thank you so much for yesterday. The vehicles were fantastic and full of character, but equally the service provided by yourself and Philip was also great. I can’t imagine any body else putting on as good a show. The professionalism that was put across while mixed with a friendly atmosphere that made the experience so relaxing was second to none. It felt that we were getting a lift by a friend. Thanks for everything and good luck for the future. We will be keeping an eye out to see if you ever add to your “VW family”‘
